Cooligan Ryan LLP is primarily a litigation firm that combines the talents of lawyers who are trained and experienced in the art of advocacy and civil litigation in all its forms including alternative dispute resolution.
The firm has a long and established history in the City of Ottawa, tracing its roots back to the late 19th century. We are located in the heart of downtown, directly across from the Court House on Elgin Street. We offer services in both official languages.
Although we continue to provide services for real estate and estate matters, we have developed a recognized expertise in personal injury litigation, as a result of representing individuals who require help after an accident or tragedy involving injury or the death of a loved one. Members of our litigation group are regularly retained to act in the areas of Personal Injury & Disability Claims, Medical Malpractice, Insurance Litigation, Family Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Our lawyers are active participants in a wide range of professional and community organizations. We believe in and emphasize the need to keep abreast of changes in the law. We regularly attend and serve as instructors in continuing legal education programs and at the University of Ottawa Law School.
